Le Reflet, bureau plat, (Dim:192x96x76cm) is the latest work and will be shown at Masterly, the Dutch in Milano.
The table is constructed from layers of laser cut mahogany and stainless steel fittings. The table-top is inlaid with transparent acrylic tiles. Organic shapes and mathematical patterns break-up the symmetry and regularity of the traditional layout.
The materials and textures make the object come alive in a play of reflection, shades and sparkling highlight.
The table is reminiscent to a 'Bureau plat' in the style of Louis XV. A bureau plat is a large table designed for writing, discussing and study shaped to emphasize the importance of it's function.
